Support rainbow-web-sdk on (iOS) Safari
Hello all,
We're developing a website with rainbow-web-sdk and want to use the SDK for audio- and videocalls. Sadly, it feels like we wasted our time since the SDK doesn't support iOS for videocalls (until 1.86, audiocalls worked) and on the current LTS not at all.
web.openrainbow.com is equally broken right now which is mostly fine since there's apps for every platform.
To reproduce, get yourself a Mac or iPhone/iPad and navigate to https://web.openrainbow.com, open the console and read the following error message:
ReferenceError: Can't find variable: BroadcastChannel
...which is perfectly in line with missing support for BroadcastChannel in Safari -> https://caniuse.com/broadcastchannel
On Macs this is fine, we could ask users to use a different browser.
On iOS this doesn't work, because every browser is using Apple's WebKit, which again doesn't support BroadcastChannel.
How are we supposed to use Rainbow if it simply does not work for a huge percentage of users (every single iPhone user) on the web?
Are you implying we create an app for all the platforms, or is there any intention to fix this?
