Important information about Rainbow conference model evolution
Dear Community,
The Rainbow conference model evolves (we call it conference V2). The ultimate goal of this conference model evolution is to simplify, optimize and bring more flexibility in the conference management.
We plan to shutdown backend support for current conference model (called conference V1) begining of September 2022.
These are the actions you will need to take before this date given which SDK your application uses:
- C# SDK: versions from 2.6.3 LTS are fully compatible with the new conference V2 model. Please verify your application uses this version or newer.
- Web SDK: a new LTS will be released week 19 (May 9-13). This SDK version brings a new webConference object that fully exploits conference V2 model. Usage of the new webConference object will be required starting September 2022.
The current conference object remains available even if it is considered obsolete and will stop working from September 2022.
We recommend the use of the new webConference object as soon as possible so applications based on Web SDK continue to work after conference V1 support removal from Rainbow backend.
Please note that during migration period (between now and begining of September 2022), a conference started using the conference V2 model can be joined by applications using conference V1 model. But a conference started using conference V1 model
CAN NOT be joined by applications using conference V2 model.
- Android SDK, iOS SDK: a new LTS version will be released week 19 (May 9-13). This SDK version is compatible with conference V2 model.
Full support of conference V2 will be available in a future SDK version (date to be confirmed) and will require code changes to fully benefit new conference V2 features.
