Understand your Status

Would you like to adapt the way your contacts can reach you? Use Rainbow status to restrict certain features or simply let your contacts know your availability.

Note: Your status is synchronized across all your Rainbow applications and will be the same, e.g., on your computer and smartphone.

Status display

You can change your own status to indicate your availability (presence). You can also determine the availability of your contacts by checking their status . Status are represented by a plain colored spot on the avatar.

Impact of the status

Each status gives access to different functionalities in Rainbow. The following table summarizes all the possibilities offered for each status.

What actions can be performed with the different status?

Online

This status indicates that the user is connected from a computer (Web or Desktop application). The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Send and receive messages and files
Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference

Away

This status indicates that the user is connected to Rainbow. Yet, they are not necessarily behind their computer. The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Send and receive messages and files
Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference

Online on mobile

This status indicates that the user is connected from a mobile (Android or iOS application). The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Send and receive messages and files
Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference

Busy

Note: The user with a "Busy" status will not receive any sound notifications during his/her call.

This status indicates that the user is enrolled in a call. A specification about the type of communication (Audio, Video, or Screen sharing) is displayed. The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Send and receive messages and files
Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference

Do not disturb

Note: The user with a "Do not disturb" status will not receive any sound notifications.

This status indicates that the user wish to block all Rainbow notifications. The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Send and receive messages and files
Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference

Invitation sent

It is not a status as such. It is a indication that is visible only to the user who has sent an invitation. Until the invitation is accepted, only messages and files can be sent to the invited user.

Invisible

This status indicates that the user does not want to be reached on Rainbow. The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Send and receive messages and files
Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference

Offline

Note: The offline user will be able to receive messages or files, but will not be able to read them until the next time he logs on.

This status indicates that the user is disconnected from Rainbow. The possible actions for this user are as follows:

Make a Phone Call
Take a Phone Call
Make a Web Call
Receive a Web Call
Start a Web Conference
Join a Web Conference
