A new prerequisite is required to update or install versions 130 or higher of the Rainbow desktop application. The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is now replaced by the Microsoft .NET 4.8.1 Framework.
How to obtain this prerequisite?
This new prerequisite is included as standard on an up-to-date Windows 11 workstation, or is downloaded automatically when the Rainbow application is installed for users with administrative rights on their workstation.
For all other users, a prerequisite installation must be carried out by the IT administrator. You can find a download link for this prerequisite in the Help Center, right here: https://support.openrainbow.com/hc/articles/360019540480
And once the prerequisite has been installed?
A first update to version 130 was launched on Monday January 15, enabling users who already have the prerequisites to benefit from this new version.
A second upgrade will take place in the coming weeks, and will be announced in advance in this channel.
Tips: In any case, don't panic. Even if the upgrade failed, your Rainbow desktop application is still running in version 126. You can also benefit from the new features included in web version 130. Only developments specific to Windows integration are available exclusively with the desktop application.
