In an emergency situation where every second counts, it is essential to be able to contact the right people easily, to share required information, by message or photo, and to receive an acknowledgment.
Types of Alert Messages
There are three types of Alert Messages in Rainbow Alert : Emergency, Important and Information.
- An Emergency Message is accompanied by a persistent audio beep (with a duration of 30 secondes) and a persistent visual notification, with an acknowlegment required.
The recipient(s) of the Emergency Message must have the Rainbow Alert license.
- The Important and Information Messages are two different levels of notifications, below Emergency. They have a specific label color and they are available to everyone using Rainbow.
Send an Emergency Message
- Go to the Conversation or Bubble where you want to send an Alert Message. Click on the "exclamation point" button next to the message typing area.
- Choose Emergency and type your message. Click on the Send button when you are done. The recipient(s) will receive a notification bypassing the Rainbow DnD presence.
Tips: To send an Important or Information Message, you can follow the same steps but change the Message type on step 2. You can also attach a picture or a file to these Messages, which is not possible with an Emergency Message.
Receive an Emergency Message
When you are the recipient of an Emergency Message, you can acknowledge it or decline it. The audio beep will bypass the DnD presence on Rainbow and your phone audio settings.
