This article is intented for Rainbow users in conversation from their company deskphone and who need to manage a second phone call:
- Making a second phone call
- Answering a second phone call
- Cancelling a second phone call
- Switching between call parties (broker call)
- Connecting call parties (call transfer)
Making a second phone call
The first call is put on hold when the second call is established.
To make a second call:
- Press the New softkey.
- Perform one of the following:
Call by number Dial the internal or public number Call by name Press the abc key to switch to the alphabetical keyboard, enter the contact name and press the OK key or Call softkey Call from the call log Select the target contact in the call log and press the OK key Call from the local directory Press the softkey Directory to access personal directory, select the target contact and press the OK key or Call softkey Call from a speed dial key c ontact
Answering a second phone call
In communication with your first contact, you are notified of a new call on your deskphone by three beeps. The caller identifier is displayed as long as the call is presented on your deskphone.
You can:
- Answer the second phone call using one of the following:
Handset (if equipped) Pick up the handset ( )
Hands-free mode Press any of the following: Take call softkey, key, loudspeaker key
or OK key
Headset (if connected) Press the Take call softkey or OK key - Transfer the second phone call to:
Your voice mailbox Press the Reject call softkey or key.
Another contact Press the Deflect softkey and perform any of the following:
- If present in your call log, select the target contact using the navigation keys.
- Enter the contact number or name.
Cancelling a second phone call
A first call is on hold while a second call is in progress.
To cancel the second call and retrieve the first call:
- Press the End softkey or
key.
The second call is cancelled. The first call is still on hold. - Press the Retrieve softkey.
The first call is retrieved: you are in communication with your first contact.
Switching between call parties (broker call)
A first call is on hold while a second call is in progress.
To retrieve the first call and put the second call on hold, press the Swap softkey or key.
Connecting call parties (call transfer)
A first call is on hold while a second call is in progress.
To connect the two contacts and leave the communication, press the Transfer softkey or key.
