    Dear Early Adopters,

The new Rainbow Softphone feature was made generally available this week with the official release of Rainbow v135.

Everyone involved in this project would like to thank you for your contribution to this Early Adopter phase.

Thanks to your feedback, we've been able to fix some bugs, improve the user interface and even add a new feature for deploying the application.

The EA article has been updated to describe the application with the features available in v135, with the major evolution that this version is available for Rainbow Hybrid (OXE/OXO) and for Rainbow Hub.

    https://support.openrainbow.com/hc/articles/17121598116498-Rainbow-Softphone-mode

Please also see the article on deploying the Rainbow Desktop application, where the option to force softphone mode is described.

    https://support.openrainbow.com/hc/articles/360021735260-Installation-options-for-Rainbow-Desktop-Client

I will remove the Early Adopter licenses by tonight or Monday. This has no impact on you, accounts that had an EA license will continue to work with the softphone mode without any intervention from you.

    Best regards,
    Baptiste

I would like to know what will be the pricing model for this softphone.  We can see that we still need a Rainbow business or enterprise licence to use the softphone.  Is it going to be the case when it will lunch officially?  Thanks

How should we share our comments about the visual design and ergonomy of the softphone V3 as Early Adapter please?  Should we open an SR on the ALE partner website?  Thanks

    Hello Louise
    Thanks for your comments.
Pricing model is not changed, Sofphone is only a view dedicated for telephony centrics users.
So Softphone can be used by any user with profile "telephony" or "telephony + Rainbow call".
Available for all type of Rainbow license Essential/ all Business / all Enterprise /all Attendant", hybrid and Hub.

For comments, if it concerns new or missing features or new ergonomy, you can do it here
if it's more a bug on existing , then eSR is better

    Hello Louise,

/update/ didn't see that my colleague already answered, please take this as a complementary information

There is no specific pricing model for the Softphone mode, it is just another UI/UX for the Desktop application. So according the customer needs the pricing are those for Business/Enterprise/Attendant licenses.

And for your second question, you can share comments/questions here with a comment.  If you think you have found any malfunctions of the app, then you can open a ticket at support@openrainbow.com.
Please check the EA article for details about troubleshooting.

But what is the advantage against rainbow in pc mode ? It uses the same license with less funtionality.

For me, the softphone is only an advantage if there is a separate license to use it in conjunction with teams, for example.

    Regards

    Ralf

    Hi Ralf
We're responding to users who want a more dedicated interface when they use Rainbow only for Telephony.
We provide them with a more optimized interface, avoiding customer IT teams to receive tickets from their users for unused or unavailble features.

    bonjour a tous

    --automatic translation--

    hello everyone

my first test feedback and opinions

    configuration

    quick and easy

    ergonomics

simple, consistent interface - all the essentials of an advanced softphone are there

right-hand positioning of the telephone headband, even though I'm left-handed, more practical for right-handers 😉

call management control integrated into the headset

    configuration

    to be improved

    on first installation

the client is installed in English, so you have to go to the appearance settings to switch to French, then the client reboots and you have to go to the appearance settings again to switch to softphone mode, then the client reboots again.

plan for only one reboot when switching

    ergonomics

on incoming call if client window is reduced

no popup to indicate an incoming call, just the ringing tone, so users have to raise the softphone window and click on the command integrated into the softphone client's telephone banner, which isn't very practical

    Hello Philippe,

    thanks for your comments.

For the installation today you can already choose the language at installation of the app (see article https://support.openrainbow.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021735260-Installation-options-for-Rainbow-Desktop-Client) and we will add another option to start also in softphone mode after installation (with next official version - April).

Regarding the incoming call notification, it's a bug that will be fixed with the April version.

    Regards,
    Baptiste
