Microsoft Office integration
AnsweredHi,
We are considering purchasing an Alcatel Lucent PBX system, using Rainbow as a client interfacing with the phone system.
A colleague of mine is all for the idea of getting this system because he has been told that he could potentially integrate this system with our CRM with its API's
Before he gets carried away and starts promising the world to our staff - could you tell me if the following is even possible?
Our CRM is an SQL database with MS Access 2010 front end.
In brief, we have contact information on forms in the front end.
He has basically been told that he could "potentially" create a button on the form that will dial the number directly from the front end.
In our current system, our customer service staff have to go into the record and find the contact then go into the phones client software and search for the contact and dial it from there.
If they could just click a button from within the CRM without having to navigate away from one screen and search for it in another application such as 'Rainbow' that would be brilliant.
But I have no idea how "potentially" possible this is.
I don't want to purchase a system based on this idea and not be able to follow through.
Do you think this would even be possible?
If so could you point me in the right direction of information on how to interact with Rainbows API's from within Microsoft Access?
Many thanks

Hi,
If you (your company) buys an Enterprise licence for Rainbow, you'll be able to connect your ALE Pbx to Rainbow and then use APIs to manage calls.
There is a working example using the SDK Web which allows to manage with APIs the calls (PBX):
https://rainbow-cpaas.github.io/Rainbow-Web-SDK-Samples/SDKTelephonyAngularSample/FYI, for this demo you'll need an official rainbow account with an existing company which has the right Licences and PBX configured.
About MS Access: I am sorry, I don't know which languages/SDK may be used within... VB ?
Existing APIs are described there: https://hub.openrainbow.com/#/documentation/doc/hub/rainbow-hub-at-a-glanceRegards,
Pascal
