New Rainbow desktop client takes up ample right vertical side space with Contact Info
Rainbow WebClient for Windows Version 2.73.0.
After upgrade, I find that the new interface is good, neat and has several new features. I would like to continue using the new interface. Just one problem. I notice that everytime you click on a Contact Name in Left Hand Side (LHS) panel, you see about 20% of screen space getting consumed by the Contact Info panel on RHS!
This is very disturbing. It reduces the space required for messages which is the primary purpose of Rainbow.
I can hide it by clicking on "info" icon above the contact info on the right, however it comes back after you logout/login! There is no way to turn off this default behavior! Hence I consider this as an issue compared to old design.This is annoying to hide the contact information every time. I know at least one user who switched to Old Rainbow Design just because of this issue.
Please keep the Contact Info hidden by default.
Hi Nicy White, About two weeks back, my Rainbow desktop client asked me to update. It was automatic upgrade to the following:
I didn't do anything special to upgrade. This interface does have an option to switch back to old design.
You may try to uninstall and reinstall from https://www.al-enterprise.com/en/rainbow/download-app. Probably, it is already new version, not sure though.

newUI it's not depending from the installed client. It's an configuration option "tryNewUiCustomisation" for the company / user profile and needs to be enabled by an admin currently. ALE announced that the new UI will be available for all users in the next 2 weeks.
If the option is set to enable the user can toggle between new and old (current) UI version.
