You may associate an equipment (PBX) to your Company or your Customer Companies. The association of your PBX to Rainbow enables your users to synchronize their telephony presence or even to remotely control their desk.
Creating an equipment requires two steps to be followed:
The first step is for creating an equipment in a Rainbow Company.
The second step is for linking a PBX to this equipment. An intervention through the PBX administration interface is then required.
NOTE: The Operation Role enables the creation of an equipment (PBX) for your Company or your Customer Company. The Company Administration Role allows you to create equipment for your Company.
How to Create a New Equipment (PBX)?
Associate a Customer Company to your PBX:
- Part I - The Creation of Equipment with Rainbow
Click on the button "Manage your Company" in the top banner of your screen.
In the left panel, click on "Customer Companies" to access Company settings.
In your Customer list, select the Company to which you wish to associate an equipment.
Go to the tab "Equipments" to display your Customer Company PBX.
The "ADD" button allows you to add a new equipment.
Fill the following fields Name of the server, Server Type, Country, The Outgoing Local Prefix, and click on "Next." Learn more here 🔽Hide 🔼
Server Name: Name of the equipment in Rainbow. Can be later changed. Server Type: PBX type (OXE, OXO etc.) that you wish to connect. Cannot be later changed. Country: Data used for translating national phone numbers into canonical numbers. Can be later changed. The Outbound Prefix: Number used for outgoing calls requiring a prefix. Can be later changed.
Define numbering rules that are applied to phone calls launched via Rainbow and click on the blue tab "APPLY."
An equipment ID and activation code are automatically generated. These data need to be informed in your PBX administration interface to finalize the connection.
The connection status of the equipment remains "Pending" until the first PBX connection has been finalized.
NOTE: To retrieve the equipment ID and the activation code, simply click on "Manage connection."
NOTE: When you create a new equipment, you may choose to define its ID and its activation code by yourself. For this, activate the following option: "Specify equipment ID and activation code". Show me 🔽Hide 🔼
- Part II - Association of a PBX in Rainbow
The association of a PBX in Rainbow requires specific administration rights. Click on the PBX type you wish to connect to display the whole procedure.
Retrieve the PBX ID and its activation code created in the first part.
Open the "OXO Connect Console Management (OMC)" software and connect to your PBX.
In the OMC tree, select "Cloud" then "Rainbow."
Tick the box "Rainbow Activated" and insert your PBX ID and your activation code.
The "Domain" field has to be "openrainbow.com" by default.
Once you have filled all the fields, click on "Validate" to launch the connection.
The connection status validates the operation. A new password is generated at the first connection between the PBX and Rainbow. The last digits of this password are displayed in Rainbow and in the OXO.
In Rainbow, the equipment connection status turns into "Normal."
