Contact List to have Location, Department details

Can the contact list contain additional information like Department, Location, Email @, apart from First and Last Name ?
it will be useful for Large, Multi site organisation where employees with the same name can be differentiated based on their Location / Department. 
currently, it is possible to see more information of the contact by clicking on the little 'arrow', but for a quick access to the right contact, it helps to have the details on the contacts window itself.
Users should have the option to select which fields he would like to see on his contacts window.

  We plan to add two additional fields attached to a user, but to be managed by the company admin.
  1- Location/Dept
  2- Dept/CostCenter
  Both will be available in the CDR files (Consumption Detailed Record) to allow cost allocation.
  The information may also be used to create teams in organizations.
