Hide channel messages

Could you add a field to the channel object definition (eg 'type') that specifies its use (news feed, data transfer, ...)? Could you please provide a way to hide the messages in the Rainbow Channels tab for channels that have that field set with a specific value? Also maybe provide a way to format the message in the channel tab dependent on the type of channel.
