Rainbow users using REX licenses

We have Rainbow users using REX licenses for PSTN calls and we need record external calls while using it from a mobile (It works fine from a laptop or desktop).
We found a document saying that this is possible while using OPR with DR Link (Will attach it to the SR).
Why it is possible with DR link and not with IP DR link?
All targeted calls are through T2 ISDN.
