On my mobile the hands free speaker function only works when call is answered. In my view this would be much more functional if the handsfree is available as soon as number is dialled. 

This the allows users to per form other tasks while waiting for call to connect. Also it allows user to hear connection status rather than holding phone to ones ear. 

This function is pretty well available on any smartphone, Viber, Skype etc..

I raised this 6 months ago but no input.

  Dear Michael

  Thank you for your suggestion but it will not be considered. Even your native phone app on your mobile does not do that. We shall not put automatically the user in hands free mode when starting a call or answering a call, for privacy reason, to not disturb others, etc.

  We are doing that only for video calls, as you usually don't have your mobile near the ear when doing video.
