This could be a good enhancement, but if implemented it should also be possible to disable this as a administrator of the channel.

As far as i know this has been fixed from Version 2.78.0 had reported this as a bug and it got fixed.
This is a feature suggestion that a lot of collaboration platform competitors have already and this should be implemented.
