Teams integration not working with institutional login (single signon)

We have a single sign-on for both Teams and Rainbow (interestingly they are also using different aliases: first.name@kit.edu for Teams and ab1231@kit.edu for rainbow, but I think that is not the immediate issue).

It seams that the Teams rainbow integration is not able to redirect to the single signon provider, but wants a password at openrainbow.com which I cannot provide.

  Good day to you!

  Please be informed that the single sign-on will work between the single user account and its credentials. Also, we recommend the same, which is the standard practice. Kindly refer to the below image.
